I have always been fascinated by the story of Tristan and Isolde and by the Celtic aura of the legend. And I have once read that the name Tristan, with the variants Tristram or Tristrem, may be actually inspired by the (possibly Pictish name) Drustan in old inscriptions.
As a fan of Celtic lore and of medieval tales, of course I wanted to have a hero based on the legendary Tristan, and this is what I tried to create in my medieval romance. I thought of a knightly hero who is a mixture of sensitive and strong, of gentle and harsh. And I pictured my Tristram as a cross between an Arthurian Knight and a manga hero.
So this is my story of Tristram – one which is considerably steamier and different from the well-known tale. And I could not resist and gave it a happy-ending…
