Rose Vane writes historical, paranormal and fantasy romance. She also uses the pen name R.R. Vane.

Simmering, lush or simply melting, her atmospheric stories always strive to be different, and they are at times infused with fantasy elements that rely on a rich layer of folklore. Rose is also a historical linguist and loves to explore various ages and settings in what she writes. Her first fiction book, a Gothic romance set in nineteenth-century Romania, was published by Carina Press (Harlequin) in December 2017 (A Deep Dark Call).

She has a current medieval series of books set in Angevine England written as R.R. Vane.

She has several manuscripts in progress, which include medieval, Victorian and fantasy romance. Her tastes in both books and films have always been eclectic, and she enjoys a classic historical romance novel just as much as a thought-provocative fantasy, a nuclear erotic romance featuring a hot shifter or a challenging post-apocalyptic story. Rose lives in Romania with her Transylvanian husband.

A voracious reader, Rose occasionally writes reviews of both fantasy and romance books (all heat levels, all settings), but she will only post three-, four- or five-star reviews on her blog. She adores fantasy based on Eastern European lore and mythology, and is particularly fond of fantasy romance, medieval romance, Renaissance romance, sci-fi and paranormal romance.

Robin McKinley, Tanith Lee, J.V. Jones, Robin Hobb, Stephen Donaldson, Neil Gaiman, Victoria Holt, Mary Balogh, Jayne Castle, Julie Tetel, Naomi Novik, C.L. Wilson, Elizabeth Hoyt, Madeline Miller and Chris Wooding are among her favourites in a long list of favourite writers.
